My Commentary.

I just heard some very disturbing news today. With all of the modern technology in use today, we are still not graduating our children from high schools across this country. I am particularly disturbed by the statistics  citing the Detroit, Indinapolis, and Cleveland school systems.

In this day and age when you only graduate 25 to 30% of your high schoolers, there is a real problem for all of us. Instead of going forward to nowhere, why don't we go back and do what has worked before. Every child is not the same. Every child is not going to go to college, and every job or occupation does not require a college degree or for that matter, even a college education.

There is a book written by Ray Bradbury called Fahrenheit 451. In this book, among other things, the author talks about a society which had become so pre-occupied with complacency and the idea that the government was going to do everything right for it's people that independent thought became illegal.

You have the grandest of desires. However, "the one world order model" prohibits freedom, rather than perpetuate freedom.

When I was in elementary and high school back in the 1950's and 1960's there were three levels in every grade from kindergarten all the way through high school. There was recognition by parents and teachers that every child did not learn at the same level. This did not make the child any less valuable, in fact I believe it helped the self esteem of most of the children because they were not put into a position which virtually guaranteed failure. If a child was slow in math, that child was not put into an excelerated math class.

The student was placed in the average or even slower class until he/she got stronger in the area of math. You see one must learn how to add, subtract, multiply and divide before he/she can do algebra.

So, I believe before the public school systems in this country continue to spend money on new systems. Go back to the basics. Accept the student where he/she is and work with them, their parents or guardians in helping them master the very basics. Then you will start seeing some real improvements across the board.

Under the current system, the only way we will have enough jail space is if everyone's home becomes a prison.

I am not a gloom and doom person. I am however an honest person, and unless our teachers are allowed to teach in an environment which is conducive to teaching and children are expected to learn. There will not be enough intellectuals to stave off the inevitable collapse of society as we know it.

There are some well read and intelligent "car salesmen" who make more money in a week than some multi-degreed educators make in two months. When your sewer backs up do you want a doctor, or do you want a plumber?

There is a powerful and positive place in society for every human being. We just need to seriously help our children learn to feel good about pursuing their positive place in  society. This must be done before  we become the characters in the book, Fahrenheit 451.
