CAIN AND ABEL.

As I grew up listening to great Bible Stories, I was always puzzled by the story of Cain and Abel. It seemed to me that out of nowhere, Cain just decided to kill his brother Abel. Obviously Abel had not done anything to his brother Cain, yet Cain brutally killed his brother Abel. I thought to myself as I was growing up what a truly evil and nasty person this Cain must have been. I mean just to kill your own brother in cold blood. Yet God who is their Creator as he is ours, did not kill Cain.

So as I have grown in years and experience as well as in spiritual knowledge. I began to look again at this murder near the beginning of humankind. What I realized is that this event took place after the FALL of mankind into sin. The disobedience of the parents of Cain and Abel had caused them to be cast out of the Paradise of Eden to a newly cold and corrupt world where sin was running wild as it does today.

You see Cain had begun to feel all of the sinful emotions which most of us feel in life.

The desire to be accepted and praised as one who has done something outstanding, or at the very least had done what was supposed to be done by us.

Well, when Abel gave his offering to the Lord of his flock. God was pleased. When Cain gave his offering to ther Lord of his crops of the corrupted earth, God was not as pleased. This of course irritated Cain so much that he killed his brother Abel. In the 6 & 7 verses of Ch.4 of Genesis. God even warns Cain not to let his emotions get the best of him.  You see evil (Satan) likes to use anything he can to destroy us.  So the next time you get all puffed up because you did not get what you felt was your proper respect or honor. Think about Cain so that you want have to go through life with a mark of shame all over you.
